Although Australia is blessed with many varieties of cockatoos the galah has to be one of my top two or three. Unlike a few other species the galah is a very gentle bird and extremely playful often hanging upside down from branches or perching on telephone wires where they will repeatedly somersault over and over while screeching out their joy at the games. In fact, here in Australia a person can be called ‘a galah’ if they are doing silly things!!
