This male Masked weaver is from South Africa .... after a couple of good days rain (and resultant insect food hatching) all the male weavers in the area began frantically building nests in the often-vain hope that a female will be impressed enough to want to mate with them. A male may have to build five or more nests before she finds one acceptable for egg raising.... wow.... what a job!!! Don't think I could handle the pressure...lol
