A flash of wings - Pacific Black Duck

To quote the words of Graham Pizzey the great Australian naturalist "the Pacific black duck is one of the most under rated birds in Australia". When he said that to me, I had to agree.
So humble in their conservative resting plumage but that all changes when their wings open and they display those magical speculum feathers.... metallic flashes of emerald green, magenta and purple!! I just love them.
