Having on several occasions spent time with wild meerkats in the Kalahari I have come to truly appreciate just how tough these little guys really are. The Kalahari is bitterly cold by night and brutally hot by day and surviving there is enough by itself to engender admiration. There strong family system is also wonderful t to witness and their care of youngsters is second to none.
