Mount Emei is a sacred mountain in Sichuan province, China.  At 3,099 meters, it is the highest of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. The Natural Ecology Monkey Reserve serves as China's biggest reserve for wild monkeys and is home to about 1,000 Tibetan macaques. This sanctuary allows visitors a special privilege of observing monkeys wild and in a natural habitat. It is often extremely cold in Winter and the trees tinkle with ice crystals whenever a breeze blows.

This gorgeous monkey was feeling the cold quite badly and he repeatedly massaged his fingers which were bright pink with the cold. All of his surrounding family were encrusted with ice crystals and to me it seemed they were doing it very hard in that environment with mostly frozen plant shoots and buds to eat.
